The Four Best BBQ TV Shows to Watch This Fall
Fall is upon us, which means more time spent indoors for those of us in colder climates. It’s the perfect time to catch up on TV shows you might have missed when spending time behind the grill in the warmer summer months. Thankfully, there are a few new seasons of shows and even a few new series for barbecue fans to binge-watch this year.
Here are our picks for the four best BBQ shows to watch this fall.

BBQ Brawl
On the third season of BBQ Brawl, celebrity chef Bobby Flay is joined by rival chefs Anne Burrell and Jet Tila. The three mentor and coach up-and-coming barbecue challengers in a fierce competition. Feges BBQ is offering free meals to veterans every Friday with the generous support of the barbecue community in Houston and beyond. Pitmaster and owner Patrick Feges, himself a veteran and a Purple Heart recipient for injuries he sustained in Iraq, wants to pay homage to those who have served our country in the Armed Forces. “A free meal is just a small show of gratitude for the sacrifices of the men and women in the armed forces,” Feges says. Since 2018, Feges has served over 1,500 free meals. This Veteran’s Day, the Feges BBQ team expects to serve over 500 meals to military vets. READ MORE.
Between opening new barbecue and chicken restaurants, receiving a James Beard Award nomination, and releasing his first cookbook, acclaimed pitmaster Matt Horn has kept busy this year. Now he is adding a new educational program called the Academy of Smoke for Bay Area kids. Starting in the spring of 2023, Horn will teach these kids the history and craft of barbecue in a four to six-week program. “Wherever we go, we’re making sure we’re giving back to the community,” Horn says. Brandon and Katherine Rushing will bring their Southern Carolina-style whole hog barbecue to Chicago with the opening of Briny Swine in the heart of Lincoln Park. The restaurant will feature smoked meats and low country flavors, including South Carolina oysters, blue crab, and shrimp. “There’s so much to low country southern food,” Katherine Rushing says. “There’s heart there. There’s soul there — especially when you talk about whole hog barbecue. It’s a labor of love.” The 200-seat restaurant is slated to open early in 2023, so get ready Chicago. READ MORE.

Sept 28 - Oct 2, 2022: American Royal World Series of Barbecue — Kansas City, Kansas
The American Royal World Series of barbecue is the largest BBQ competition in the country. On top of a massive KCBS competition with roughly 500 teams from around the country, this signature Kansas City event includes public-facing activities, including live music, delicious BBQ and local food, a full lineup of kids activities, and a vendor fair authentic to Kansas City and BBQ enthusiasts. October 14-15, 2022: The Jack — Lynchburg, Tennessee

October 22, 2022: GrillGirl X GrillGrate Women’s Grilling Clinic — Fort Myers, Florida
Grill Girl Robyn Lindars is teaming up with GrillGrate to host a Women’s Grilling Clinic at the Robot Ranch in Fort Myers, Florida. The goal of the Women’s Grilling Clinic is to teach women the fundamentals of grilling in a relaxed “Girls Night Out” Atmosphere. October 22, 2022: World Championship Hot Wing Contest and Festival — Memphis, Tennessee
The 2022 World Championship Hot Wing Contest & Festival (WCHWCF) will take place Saturday, October 22 (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.) at Tiger Lane, on the grounds of the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, TN. This will mark the 20th year of the festival, previously known as the Southern Hotwing Festival. Whether you like your wings grilled, smoked or fried, with seasonings that range from sweet to savory to exotic, there’s sure to be something for everyone. Hawaii’s first ever KCBS-sanctioned BBQ competition will take place on Veterans Day Weekend with the debut event “Warrior BBQ Ribs Championship.” This contest will include 3-rounds of pork ribs at the beautiful beachside Kapiolani Regional Park on the island of Oahu. The cake is $10,000 in prize monies, and the event theme (“Honors-to-Others”) will not only seek to celebrate Hawaii’s diverse backyard barbecue scene but also bring special honors to veterans, active military, and first responders. November 11-13, 2022: KCBS World Invitational — Gadsden, Alabama
The Kansas City Barbeque Society’s biggest event for the rest of the year is the fourth annual KCBS World Invitational Barbeque Competition. The event will bring together top champion pitmasters to compete for the title of “KCBS World Champion.” This event will feature three full days of contests and events. There will be both an open contest and a Master Series contest. Plus, backyard teams will be eligible to compete in the open against Master Series teams without impacting their Backyard status. November 18-20, 2022: Jacksonville BBQ Fest — Jacksonville, Florida
During the past few years, Florida has become an even bigger attraction for barbecue restaurants and events. The Jacksonville BBQ Fest, held at TIAA Bank Field (where the Jaguars play), is one event that brings barbecue fans together to get a taste of great local and national barbecue bites. On top of the top-notch food, there’s also live music and great drinks to enjoy. November 19, 2022: Holy Smokes BBQ Festival — Charleston, South Carolina
